What is a Double-Six Domino Set?

A double-six set contains 28 tiles covering every combination from blank-blank through six-six. In a common draw game, players connect matching ends to a shared layout and try to empty their hands. Because domino traditions vary, the host will explain the exact drawing, opening, and scoring rules before play.

How does it play?

  1. Mix and draw. Turn the tiles face down, shuffle them, and give each player the agreed number. The rest form the boneyard.
  2. Start the layout. Use the agreed opening rule, often beginning with the highest double available.
  3. Match an open end. Play one tile so a number of pips matches an exposed end of the chain.
  4. Draw or pass. If you cannot play, draw from the boneyard or pass according to the chosen rules. The round ends when someone empties their hand or the game becomes blocked.
