Its simple rules, flexible player count, and conversational questions make it especially well suited to families, friends, and new groups gathering at Midnight Oil community events in Titusville.

What is Herd Mentality?
Herd Mentality asks players questions with many possible answers, such as naming a food, place, or familiar thing. Everyone writes privately, then reveals their answers together and tries to match the group's most popular response.
Players who match the majority earn cow tokens. The pink cow goes to a lone odd answer and prevents its holder from winning until another player takes it, adding a playful risk to otherwise low-pressure questions.
How does it play?
- Read a question. One player draws a card and reads the prompt aloud to the group.
- Write an answer privately. Everyone chooses the response they think most other players will also choose.
- Reveal and compare. Matching answers are grouped, and players in the largest group receive cow tokens.
- Watch out for the pink cow. A player who gives the lone odd answer may receive the pink cow. The first player to collect eight cow tokens wins, provided they are not holding the pink cow.

- There is no specialized trivia knowledge and usually no single objectively correct answer.

Do I need to know the correct answer?
No. The goal is to match the answer given by the largest part of the group, even when several different answers could make sense.
What does the pink cow do?
It marks the lone odd answer. A player holding the pink cow cannot win, even after collecting enough cow tokens, until the pink cow passes to another player.
Is Herd Mentality good for a large group?
Yes. It supports 4–20 players and is one of the most flexible large-group games in the Midnight Oil library.
