Quick facts
What is Spot It!?
Spot It! uses a deck of circular cards covered with pictures that vary in size and position. Any two cards have exactly one symbol in common, and players race to identify and name that match.
The classic edition includes five short game variations. Depending on the chosen variation, finding the match may let you collect a card, discard a card, or give a card to another player.
How does it play?
- Choose a game variation. The group selects one of the five included ways to play.
- Reveal the cards. Place or turn over cards as directed by that variation.
- Find the single match. Compare two active cards and look for the one symbol they share.
- Name it and resolve the card. Call out the matching symbol, then collect, discard, or move the card according to the selected variation.
- Repeat until that variation ends. The winning condition depends on the mini-game being played.
Why you might like it
- The central rule is easy to understand, even for people who rarely play tabletop games.
- Five variations create different challenges from the same compact deck.
- Most games finish in 15 minutes or less, leaving time for rematches or another library game.
Who is it best for?
Spot It! is a good fit for children, families, adults who enjoy quick visual puzzles, and groups with limited time. Reading is not central to play, but the game does rely on visual symbol recognition and quick responses. Players who prefer a slower or less visually demanding experience may want help choosing another library game.
